The most versatile power tool

The Makita DTM51Z renovator can replace several individual devices at once. Although it is not able to compete with a specialized tool in terms of productivity, but for small jobs, a multi-tool is exactly what you need. Its spindle moves with small amplitude and high frequency, deviating 1.6° to the left and right of the central axis. Such a working movement allows, using various nozzles and accessories, to perform a wide range of work: cutting, sawing, scraping, grinding and much more. The attachments change in a couple of seconds: just pull the lever on the top of the body to release the accessory clamped in the spindle and insert another one. The spindle oscillation frequency varies from 6 to 20K oscillations per minute, depending on the position of the speed adjustment wheel.

Compatible with all types of attachments and batteries

The Makita DTM51Z renovator is compatible with any OIS standard nozzles. Thanks to the presence of radial slots located around the circumference, accessories can be installed in 12 different positions — that is, at any angle that is most convenient for work. Compatibility with nozzles of other standards is ensured using special adapters.

This model of the tool is compatible with all types of 18-volt Makita batteries: from 1.5 Ah to 6 Ah. On a standard 3 Ah battery, the renovator runs up to 70 minutes at full speed under maximum load. When using an original Makita charger, the battery is fully charged in 30 minutes. There is an indicator on the case of the renovator, signaling the low battery.

"Carcass" or "full hardware"?

The Makita DTM51Z renovator is the so-called “carcass” (that is, the battery, charger and attachments are not included). Therefore, if you do not yet have a Makita cordless tool with the necessary set of replacement batteries and accessories, then it is better to choose a completely similar Makita DTM51RFJX1 model, which comes in a plastic case with everything you need to work.
