I took a long time to write this review. Since the purchase in 2016, (the first impressions were of course, the car's smoothness was unrecognizable, such smoothness at different speeds didn't exist!) and this was in late May 2016... In July 2021, I replaced them. With a mileage of 50,000 km. In my case, the tires were bought in the following size and characteristics: Matador Hectorra 3 245/45 R18 100 Y XL FR Made in Romania price – 7048 rubles each. Operation in St. Petersburg and the Northwest. There were no reviews at that time, only a former colleague drove on winter Matador, I asked him how it was to drive on Matador, he said all OK.) I decided to experiment and bought summer ones... and did not regret it at all!) In reviews, they write that Matador Hectorra 3 wears out quickly, I wouldn't say so. Of course, it depends on the sharpness of driving and braking, but with these tires, you don’t want to drive sharply!) This tire is not for such driving. And very much wear depends on how "fresh the tire is", in my case, from the moment of production 0516 i.e., 5th week of 2016, to the moment I installed it, the end of May 2016, 4 months passed. I want to say the slogan "buy fresh tires"!) For those who need "hard" tires for quick starts and sharp braking, I can't recommend these tires! You should buy Bridgestone or Danlop. Yes, and if you are choosing between Nokia and Matador, buy Matador Hectorra 3. Matador will be more interesting than Nokia, definitely smoother, in driving through puddles at good speeds. What I would like to note about the positive thing about this tire is that the Matador Hectorra 3 is the best tire (in our opinion) when driving in rain, downpours, and through puddles and ruts. The behavior of this tire in such weather is extremely predictable, very confidently driving into and out of puddles, there is absolutely no Aqua planning, and this is at a speed of 90-120, for example, the Bridgestone potenza re050a at this speed drives completely differently, it holds the road worse . (and the price difference is 2 times) It feels like in winter, when the temperature is plus 5 and there are puddles of snow, and you are driving through puddles on good studded tires, i.e. It holds the road at 5 in the rain. I would also add that I haven’t driven much on these tires in sub-zero weather, but it also holds the road well! Regarding the sidewall, this rubber in my case was reinforced with XL FR, but this is relative to Bridgestone potenza re050a, I would say a regular sidewall. Secondly, the Hectorra 3 is the softest tire I have ever driven. I have never experienced such smooth control!) At first, I simply didn’t recognize the car, I didn’t think that the tires would change the behavior of the car so much, the car just felt like it began to float along the road, in the good sense of the word))) (it’s clear that we’re talking about asphalt is not about gravel roads). The comparison is, of course, to a greater extent with what was previously installed - Bridgestone potenza re050a NOT Runflat. What kind of rubber is it close to!? – this is, of course, a Continental, only the Matador will be softer. The person who installed these tires for me in 2016 had exactly the same opinion, his opinion was Of the minuses, this is braking to a greater extent on wet roads, but this will be subjective because... I compare it with Bridgestone potenza re050a. That's all of the downsides! As for noise, in my case, when the tires were new, they were quieter than Bridgestone. |
I only put them on today. Prior to this, I had Bridgestone... It turns out, compared to them, Matador is MUCH QUIETER. I liked the speed too, and the turns as well... I haven't tested them in the rain yet, but judging by the reviews, everything should be great. Overall, I am SATISFIED! Definitely worth their money 100%. Silence at any speed. Not found use Matador MP 47 Hectorra 3 205/55 R16 91V less than month |
so far, I'm very satisfied with the purchase. Essentially, it's a sub-brand of Continental, but at half the price. The tread patterns are similar, and the price is pleasing! One tire was difficult to install, as it had a bit of an "egg shape"—but it seems we managed to fix it. On the highway up to 170 km/h, everything is fine, and so far, I'm happy with the tires. silence, a very soft composition, I switched to a different size, so I have something to compare with on the same car (previous tires were Michelin Energy Saver). At speed on a smooth road, the noise and hum of the tires disappeared! There is a protective rim at the joint of the wheel and the tire, which is great for alloy wheels, not everyone has it. well, theoretically (I was aware of it), due to its softness, the rubber wears down very quickly. Many say that it wears down almost to nothing in 2, at most 3 seasons. We'll see. And since it's European - also according to reviews, the sidewall isn't very strong, although about 800 km have been covered with a few rough moments - everything's okay. ![]() |
