The Taiwanese brand AOpen, owned by Acer, which many probably remember from MoDT-branded computers, has recently returned to the east european component market. The biggest activity came in the period from 2019 to 2021, when several dozen affordable gaming and home monitors came out under the AOpen flag.

Perhaps the main distinguishing feature of AOpen monitors is a very affordable price. Even compared to other low-cost Acer B monitors and Acer Nitro gaming displays. As one of the reviews rightly pointed out, these are monitors for gamers who are not ready to spend hundreds of dollars on additional gigahertz, milliseconds, headphone stands and USB hubs.

In many ways, this pricing policy is due to the choice of matrices. Quite fast IPS monitors rule the roost in 2021, however, AOpen monitors in most cases have old-school TN and VA matrices with high response speed, increased hertz and limited viewing angles. At the same time, most of them are equipped with up-to-date video ports (most often HDMI and DisplayPort), support AMD FreeSync and generally meet most of the requirements that modern gaming monitors face.

The AOpen range is dominated by 22-24-inch displays with classic Full HD resolution, which saves on graphics card resources. They are accompanied by more expensive and upscale 27- and 32-inch models. For the most part, these are classic monitors, but among them there are also models with curved screens a la AOpen 27HC2R.
