Manual start
— this launch method is familiar to many from children's paper airplanes. It allows you to send the model into the air, regardless of whether there is a suitable “lane” at the launch site — the main thing is that there is free space in front of the launcher for acceleration. In addition, "manual" models usually have a low landing speed, which, combined with various design tricks, allows them to land on grass, arable land, loose snow and other places unsuitable for landing on wheels. On the other hand, a belly landing increases the likelihood of damage somewhat, especially on hard surfaces. However, in gliders (see "Type"), a wheel under the fuselage is often provided, which allows such landings to be carried normally. The common disadvantages of this option are unsuitability for heavy models, as well as the fact that in the absence of an assistant, the remote control has to be held in one hand in the first seconds of the flight.
