In the fourth generation, Samsung decided to change the usual release pattern and followed the path of Apple, simultaneously releasing several modifications of the Galaxy Watch with the same filling, but different cases. So, in addition to the regular Galaxy Watch4, the Korean giant presented a slightly more massive steel Watch4 Classic watch model with a rotating bezel and an optional leather strap. Potential buyers of the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic have two case sizes available (40/44 and 42/46 mm), as well as specialized modifications with an LTE receiver and e-SIM support.

Both watch variations have been tested for durability according to the military-industrial standard MIL-STD-810G and are protected from moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard. To interact with them, a high-resolution Super AMOLED touch screen with Always on Display support is provided. Like the previous generation, they are equipped with a GPS module, a Bluetooth module and an NFC chip for contactless payment (using Samsung Pay). The hardware consists of a 2-core Exynos W920 processor, which is complemented by 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The built-in microphone and speaker can be used for hands-free calling.

Regardless of the model, Galaxy Watch4 has excellent ergonomics and design. The device fits well with a variety of styles with a wide selection of virtual watch faces and interchangeable straps. As before, the watch can play the role of an advanced fitness tracker. A photoplethysmography sensor (determines the heart rate), an ECG sensor and a bioimpedance sensor for analyzing the amount of fat and fluid in the body are responsible for reading the owner’s physical indicators. The number of built-in sports modes exceeds a hundred.
