Many modern stoves use a combined "building" scheme: their burners run on gas, and the oven is electric. It is in this format that free-standing Gorenje K stoves are made. However, some instances of the series can be equipped with one or two cast-iron “pancakes” in addition to gas burners.

The cooking surface of the Gorenje K family is usually formed from four burners of different sizes, above which rises a cast-iron or steel grate. The manufacturer provides for the function of auto-ignition of burners and a gas control system that automatically stops the supply of "blue fuel" when the gas burner flame goes out. In terms of the work surface material, the series offers solutions for every taste — from traditional enamel to newfangled glass-ceramics.

The electric ovens on board the Gorenje combi cookers usually use the special vaulted shape of the HomeMade Plus ceiling.

The electric oven in Gorenje combo stoves is called BigSpace. It has a special arched ceiling shape HomeMade Plus, which facilitates the circulation of hot air and ensures uniform heating of the dish from all sides. The oven is often equipped with a forced convection fan, a powerful PerfectGrill and an IconLed electronic programmer. In simpler models, heating power control is assigned to traditional rotary knobs.
