Despite the development and distribution of transistors / microcircuits, the release of tube technology does not stop, and it has its own army of fans among audiophiles. The main reason for such popularity is the notorious “warm tube sound”, a special soft coloring of the sound. At the same time, purely formally, the level of harmonic distortion in tube circuits is an order of magnitude higher than in transistor ones; however, these distortions are more pleasing to the human ear, in many respects they are responsible for the “warmth” and “softness” of the sound. But of the unequivocal disadvantages of such devices, it is worth noting the high cost, bulkiness, delay when turned on (warming up time is required), as well as the limited life of the lamps — they have to be changed every few years.
