The disadvantages of projectors are also inherent, it would be unfair not to mention them. First of all — the brightness of the image, which severely limits its quality in backlight conditions. But if a couple of years ago the brightness for home theater projectors was 1800 lumens, now it is difficult to find a model with a value below 2200 lumens. However, the concept of classes is rather vague, often the model positioned by the manufacturer as presentation< /a>, completely satisfies the consumer as part of a home theater.

In fairness, we note that in addition to the cost of buying a projector, there is also a cost of ownership. The main replaceable element of the projector is the lamp, which wears out much faster than the rest of the structure, its average life is about 4000 hours.

And now let's move on to specific projector models, described in ascending order of price. You can compare the specifications of each in this table. This link contains the full projectors catalog.

Acer P1283

Let's start with the fact that the manufacturer itself positions the model as portable, which absolutely does not prevent it from being used as part of a home theater. The small dimensions of the device imply a minimum of problems with placement, and the switching located on the rear wall allows you to connect almost any laptop. Thus, the game screen is easily implemented by the projector, which will become especially attractive for the younger generation. The device also supports the MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) standard, that is, it provides the ability to connect a mobile gadget (smartphone or tablet).

In this case, its diagonal will be equal to 7.62 m) — in most cases this is more than enough. The projector can be installed in almost any conceivable geometry, including suspended from the ceiling and working through a mirror or "translucent" screen — there is an appropriate image transformation for each case.

Note the brightness at 3000 lumens in standard mode and 2400 in eco mode. The OSRAM lamp installed in the projector provides a considerable resource: 5000 hours in standard or 6000 hours in economy mode. To understand the brightness level, we note that 2400 lumens is enough to watch the news in a room with open curtains on a cloudy day.

The disadvantage of the model is the maximum image resolution of 1024x768 pixels. Most likely, it was this parameter that largely determined the humaneness of the price. But it is worth remembering that the most common horizontal resolution of a “home” movie picture is currently 720 pixels. Acer P1283 is completely ready for 3D demonstration, however, there are no 3D glasses in the kit, you will have to buy them separately.

BenQ W770ST

Like the previous model in our review, this projector uses Texas Instruments DLP technology. The device processes a 10-bit palette, showing more than 1 billion colours and creating a vibrant, rich image. The company gives a guarantee for the lamp for 12 months or 2000 hours, and for the projector itself — 24 months. At the same time, the total lamp life leaves 4000 hours (6500 hours in eco mode).

Available with two lens options, short throw model gives a standard maximum screen size of 7.62 at a distance of less than 6 metres. That is, from one metre, the device is able to create a picture with a diagonal of 61" (!). The ability to correct geometric distortions allows you to fine-tune the size of the image. The lens, according to the manufacturer, is made from selected lenses with special processing, zooms images by 1.2 times, which further increases the convenience and flexibility of projector placement. The device has a built-in speaker, which gives quite decent sound — to watch the news, there is no need to turn on all the home theater equipment. The noise level of the model can be considered a bit overpriced — it exceeds 30 dB in eco mode.

Two HDMI ports on the rear panel with a choice of signal source expand the possibilities of quick source selection. The manufacturer especially emphasizes the presence in the BenQ W770ST of Smart Eco technology, developed jointly with Philips, which allows you to dynamically manage power consumption depending on the mode of use and the type of projected image. As a result, the average power consumption is reduced and the lamp life is increased.

But the main parameter of the projector is the resolution, which can be designated as HD Ready (1280x720 pixels), which, combined with advanced settings, allows you to get a high-quality picture.< /p>

Epson EH-TW6100

Another projector that doesn't need to be connected to PA equipment. Stereo speakers were originally built into the device case and in many cases their sound is more than sufficient.

Epson EH-TW6100W is designed to demonstrate FullHD content in 2D and 3D formats. The presence of an optical zoom of 1.6x allows you to accurately fit the image to the size of the screen, so that the projector can work in a wide range of distances from the screen. Naturally, keystone correction is provided.

Determining the level of ambient light, the device automatically sets the optimal colour settings for the image. Using Super Resolution technology, Epson EH-TW6100W provides a sharp and clear projection of both 2D and 3D content. There is a built-in function to convert regular video from 2D to 3D. The bundle initially includes one pair of 3D glasses.

If we talk about the brightness index, then with its value of 2300 lm, Epson EH-TW6100W uses Epson 3LCD technology. With its use, the device demonstrates equally high light and colour brightness — a nuance that allows you to win in some image parameters. Boasts deep blacks and high detail in dark scenes. The system that controls the light shutter of the model with an increased frequency of 480 Hz is also responsible for increasing brightness and contrast.

The projector has a frontal warm air outlet. Note that the cooling system itself is quiet — you can focus on even the faintest whisper in the soundtrack of the film. The lamp life is claimed to be "class average" at 4000 hours. The model supports FullHD (1920x1080) resolution.

Epson EH-TW6100 is undoubtedly worthy of attention as a home theater projector and home entertainment in the broadest sense of the word.

Panasonic PT-AE8000E

Predecessor of this model introduced in 2011 Panasonic PT-AE7000 , became the first LCD projector in its class (supporting FullHD 3D playback). Panasonic PT-AE8000 is positioned as a stationary home theater projector — frequent transportation is undesirable for this device.

The model works on LCD x3 technology, which ensures the formation of an excellent picture. Real resolution 1920x1080 (Full HD) is supported in wide format with HDTV and 3D support. Separately, we note the quality of colour and light transmission. The generated image overcomes to a great extent the "Achilles heel" of projection and flat screen systems — the display of degrees of black. In this matter, the model shows visible progress that even sophisticated viewers will appreciate.

Service life lamps — standard 4000 hours, which in economy mode increase to 5000. The lens of the device provides a double optical zoom, and at the same time — flexibility in relation to the distance to the screen and its dimensions: the diagonal of the projected image is from 1.02 to 7.62" at a distance of 1.16 to 18.08 metres — enough for installation in almost any room. Vertical keystone correction makes it easier to install the device (for models of this class, it would be more correct to use the word “installation”).

The model provides a luminous flux of 2400 lumens, which, combined with picture quality, allows it to compete even with an advanced LCD TV. Note that the zoom and focus functions are controlled remotely — the regulators are motorized. But for the correct setup and installation of projectors of this level, it makes sense to invite specialists — they will be able to make the projector show everything that it is capable of. The positive qualities of the Panasonic PT-AE8000 will be complemented by the low noise level of its own cooling system — 22 dB, which you most likely will not even hear.

NEC PA550W Price from 38 921 up to 41 913 ₴ →

A high-end home theater projector intended for permanent installation only, preferably in specialized environments, highly desirable through specialized services.

< p> The actual image size projected by the projector is 1280x800, expandable to FullHD (1920x1080). The main parameter explaining the cost of the product and the requirements for its operation is the brightness indicator — 5500 lumens. The projector is able to "draw" a completely stunning image. In addition to the usual connection options, the model works over a computer network, providing the ability to use various services, up to remote control of the status of the lamp, whose life in normal mode reaches 3000 hours.

For purely professional use, up to four of these projectors can be used in parallel, achieving a brightness of 22,000 lumens — the maximum size screen can have a diagonal of more than twenty metres, and small images can be viewed even during the day. It should be especially noted that the lens is not included in the delivery package, but is ordered separately, which allows you to absolutely accurately maintain the parameters of the distance to the screen in a particular installation. There are six lens options to choose from.

This is the noisiest projector in our review. However, the installation conditions of such a device often involve installing the device behind glass — in this case, the noise level practically loses its significance.

As for the image, HQV technology is used in its formation, which allows you to get the most comfortable image. Geometric correction includes algorithms to compensate for the use of a non-flat screen.
