There are many different types of weights on the market. There are cheap models, and expensive ones with a lot of features. They can be both simple in appearance and real works of art - after all, the main buyers of such weights are women, which means that the external factor plays an important role. Very often, floor scales are decorated with ornaments, floral prints; they are made from unusual materials of different colours.
Floor scales are of two main types - mechanical and electronic. Electronic ones are considered more modern and measure weight more accurately. But many prefer mechanical scales, which are cheaper, although there are not many models of such devices on the market - most well-known companies produce only electronic ones.
When choosing scales, the first thing the buyer pays attention to is the appearance. Someone loves minimalism and will prefer a strict, simple design, while someone will like bright colours that will cheer you up and please the eye. Most often floor scales are made of glass or plastic. It is worth choosing a material that does not leave streaks and stains, which is easy to wash and clean.

It also makes sense to read the reviews of those who have already used the scale model that you like. Details that are imperceptible at first glance can turn out to be very significant shortcomings. For example, if several users write that the battery life is too short or that the error of the scale is too large, then most likely you should not buy this model.
The higher price of the device is often due to the presence of additional functions. You have to decide if you need them. You may end up never using these add-ons. Well, if the scales are equipped with an auto-on and auto-off function, battery or overload indicators can also be useful. Less common and in demand are the functions of measuring the percentage of adipose tissue, fluid in the body and muscle or bone mass, body mass index. But remember that these readings are not very accurate and give only a rough picture of your physical condition.
If necessary, you can find scales with other functions, for example, some models can show weight not only in kilograms, but also in pounds, as well as other units of measurement. There are scales that can “remember” weight readings for several users, there are even models with a built-in clock and thermometer.
