I will leave a rather positive assessment, because initially such an air conditioner cannot compete with a split system and it is worth comparing it with the same mobile ones. It is difficult to evaluate the operation of a mobile air conditioner as a whole, knowing in advance a bunch of design flaws in such models. But the most important thing I encountered is that the air flow is not structurally provided (this is in almost all mobile air conditioners). What is the point, the kit comes with a corrugated plastic pipe, it is thrown out the window, isolated to the maximum so that there is no air flow back and hot air is thrown out through this pipe into the street. If the air is thrown out on the street, then, accordingly, there must be an inflow from somewhere ?! And he is not! If you tightly close all windows and doors, the air conditioner creates a rarefied atmosphere in the apartment, it feels a little harder to breathe. As a result, because of this, the air begins to suck in from all possible slots, including the kitchen hood, hoods in the bathroom, you can hear how the air flow spins their fans. I don’t understand what the problem was to constructively provide for the connection of two corrugated pipes, one for air exhaust, the second for inflow. Accordingly, it sucks in hot air from all the cracks and there is no efficiency. This applies to all mobile air conditioners, I saw there are models in Europe sold, with two pipes. Here, in order to achieve more or less effective work, you will have to do a lot of "collective farming" yourself. – Cools an area of 30 m² from +31 °C to 25 °C, not bad for a mobile air conditioner.
– Convenient carrying handles and wheels, carrying from place to place is not a problem. - The remote control works even through glass and curtains. - The top of the air conditioner is made with a recess, it is provided that you can put some small things on it. - I don’t drain the condensate at all, at first I connected the drainage hose that came with the kit and in 5 hours it really draws 10 liters of water! I closed the top plug, waited for the tank to fill up in order to drain the water from the bottom plug, but it never filled up, apparently the condensate is thrown out into the street along with hot air. – Assembly at the Midea factory. - Noise! A mobile air conditioner cannot be quiet, well, not at all! Just imagine, the external unit of a conventional air conditioner, which is in your house, is not at all quiet.
– Very inefficient compared to a split. The characteristics indicate consumption up to 1.2 kW, I measured, depending on the ambient temperature and the voltage in the network, the consumption ranges from 720 to 880 W in air conditioning mode, 130 W in ventilation mode. - The heat exchanger already out of the box shows that it is slightly damaged, it does not affect the operation, the lamellas are bent in places. - The corrugated pipe must be insulated, of course! It gets very hot and as a result, cold blows on one side, and on the other it works like a radiator. – As described above, the problem with the air flow. - I finally understood for myself why mobile air conditioners are not made inverter-based, because in most cases it will never reach the set temperature and will be on all the time, especially since the temperature sensor is located behind the air conditioner, in front of the heat exchanger. – For installation on hinged windows, you will have to figure out how to install it, in the instructions and in the kit for installation in American-style sliding windows.
