I do this in the gym, not all the time, but simply as an alternative to a treadmill or an orbit track, especially on leg day, when I don’t have the strength to run, but I need to do cardio after a workout and since everything is done while sitting here, this is great advantage.
With the first step, the legs are fixed in loops (like in children's skis), then you pull the handle towards you and the programme starts. The screen shows data on training time, distance, speed and everything as usual, shows the speed of the fan inside the motor. The simulator itself is powered by a built-in battery that is recharged during training, such as a dynamo machine, I read that you can connect VR glasses to the screen and run a rowing simulation there like competitions =). During training, the back, shoulders, arms work, you need to push off a little with your legs in order to ride the saddle on the rail, because when you “stroke” you need to lean back and straighten your legs (ideally). The simulator itself is made soundly, all knots and a cable with a handle, the seat is also alive, although the simulator has been driven in the gym for the second year by 5 people every day at least.
The fan inside the motor is very noisy and the more you “row”, the louder the blades rotate there, a little air flies out, this should be taken into account by those who decide to put this at home - all these “air” simulators are very noisy during intensive training.
