Gone are the days when you had to sadly walk around the site with a regular steel scythe. Walking mowers or, as they are also called, trimmers have made this work less labor-intensive, because you no longer need to wave your hands. Hung this device on your shoulder and off you go. It is assembled from a sales kit quickly and without any special adventures. The engine is two-stroke, so when I first started it, I added 15% more oil to the gasoline than required according to the instructions. The ratio of gasoline to mineral oil was somewhere around 21:1 and the first tank seemed to be a break-in tank. I’ll tell you right away, don’t pour more oil, there will be little benefit, on the contrary, the products of incomplete combustion will clog the exhaust system. The start was manual and the first launch was exciting. But, thanks to the primer, which can and should be used to pump up the fuel mixture before starting the engine, everything went fine. It started up with the fourth pull of the cable, the engine picked up the speed and started idling steadily. The engine is not very quiet, but it has low vibration, which is necessary with one cylinder, it’s only a matter of amplitude. It cuts tall grass perfectly, the kit also includes a brush cutter, but so far there has been nothing to try. Unlike conventional manual mowing, the grass scatters in different directions, and if the fishing line catches the ground, a very large cloud of dust/pebbles rises. What I’m saying is that you shouldn’t work with bare legs and your eyes must be protected during the process. In addition, it is very advisable to cover your ears. Even though the engine is small, it makes an incredibly loud noise. So prepare earplugs or special headphones right away. |
