Energy-efficient and capacious electric storage water heater with an internal tank capacity of 100 L, electronic control, "dry" heater and ECO function, which saves up to 10% of electricity. It is positioned as a product of the upper part of the middle price category of 2015. It is one of the older models of the Hotpoint-Ariston PRO ECO line, which is capable of providing hot water supply to an apartment or a small cottage.
The power of such a device is enough to serve the household needs of a family consisting of 3-4 people. Proprietary Nanomix technology (improved flow divider) optimizes the mixing of water with different temperatures, increasing the output of hot water. The internal tank of the Hotpoint-Ariston PRO ECO 100V DRY HE water heater is coated with a special heat-resistant AG+ enamel, the surface layer of which contains a small amount of silver.
Due to antibacterial properties, such enamel is not subject to biological fouling, which helps to keep the internal volume of the device clean. Additional electrochemical protection against corrosion is provided by a large magnesium anode. To prevent the growth of microorganisms in the water, the control system once a month warms up the entire volume of the tank to a temperature of 70 °C. Water heating is carried out by one "dry" heating element with a power of 1800 W and its performance is sufficient to heat the entire tank from 10 to 55 °C in 3 hours.

Summer preventive repairs of communal heating networks, lasting for a month, are uncomfortable due to the shutdown of hot water. Therefore, I decided to buy and install an additional electric water heater in the bathroom. At first, they were interested in flow models, but they consume such a current that I doubted whether an old electric meter could withstand it. In the end, I decided not to risk it and buy a storage boiler. For my family of three, this 100-litre model was perfect. Smart electronic control that allows you to accurately set the heating temperature or use the ECO mode. The latter is convenient when large quantities of hot water are not required. At the same time, the control system studies consumption for about a week, and then optimizes the temperature and time of heating the tank itself. This mode reduces heat loss through thermal insulation and saves energy. The maximum water temperature is 80 degrees, which is more than that of the vast majority of competitors. This not only gives more hot water after mixing, but also sterilizes the inside of the enamelled storage tank. Moreover, the control system does this disinfection on its own! If within a month the water did not heat up to 70 degrees, then on the thirtieth day, the automation itself warms up the thing in the volume of the tank to 80, for disinfection. My old storage electric boiler was also Ariston brand and worked for twelve years. Probably, I could have done more, but I frankly "scored" on the next replacement of the magnesium anode and what happened happened - it did rust. Later, I googled and realized that it is for "age" enameled boilers that the timely replacement of the magnesium anode is extremely important. After 5-6 years of work, even the best enamel of the inner tank begins to break down from constant temperature changes and the anode becomes the most important part of protection. It is natural that I chose a new boiler from models of the same manufacturer. In an old boiler, after periods of long downtime, the water deteriorated and acquired an unpleasant odor. In this model, this does not happen due to two things: firstly, the silver-containing coating on the inner surface of the storage tank interferes with this, and secondly, the electronic control allows you to set up automatic antimicrobial treatment of the tank with high temperature water. The meaning of the treatment is that every thirty days the boiler itself heats the water to a temperature of over 70 degrees and withstands for some time, that is, it actually pasteurizes the water. Another fundamental difference from the old models is the use of safe and durable dry heaters. Well, electronic control in itself is a big plus. The words "self-learning boiler software" sounded like a line from a science fiction novel twelve years ago, but today it's in a common household appliance. In addition to this cunning programme, electronics more accurately maintains the temperature of the water and allows you to additionally save 5-7% of electricity. Only 12 months warranty for the electrical part of the water heater. IMHO, it won't be enough. You have to pay for quality and the price made me tense a little. For that kind of money, you could take two simple and inexpensive Chinese water heaters. |

But even if they fail, the water heater does not need to be disassembled to replace them. Electronic control, high-precision electronic thermometer with two sensors. A clever system of cold water distribution along the bottom of the tank, which minimizes mixing and noticeably increases the output of hot water. Good thermal insulation with a thick layer of foamed polyurethane. After a good warm-up, warm water from the boiler can be used for at least another day. Made in Italy. Not the fastest water heating. For really hot water, you have to wait more than two hours. You can adjust the temperature of the water heating only in increments of ten degrees. I think it's unjustified. |
