Binoculars with 8x magnification and 40mm lenses. The device is designed for outdoor use in any weather and under different lighting conditions. Aspherical lenses with full multilayer coating are responsible for image quality. Their outer surfaces are coated with coatings that repel moisture and dirt and protect the glass from scratches. The sealed body of the Pentax 8x40 SP WP binoculars is made of lightweight magnesium alloy.

The rubberized coating provides good grip and partially protects from impacts. Filling the housing with nitrogen eliminates moisture condensation on the internal surfaces of the lenses due to temperature changes. Adjustable eyecups and a diopter adjustment mechanism allow glasses wearers to easily customize the binoculars to suit their needs. A case is included with the device.
