The Thor series from the American brand Lexar comes with overclocking DDR4 and DDR5 RAM with fairly high clock speeds and a wide selection of available memory sizes. As is customary with Lexar, the manufacturer paid special attention to the design of the modules to make it easier for the user to fit them into the interior of a transparent or translucent computer case. Thus, Thor DDR4 modules are equipped with neat, elegant, low-profile radiators in black or white. And for Thor DDR5 modules, the designers used gold-plated decorative inserts with an interesting structure inspired by Scandinavian runes.

The Thor range provides quite a wide range of potential options. According to the internal hierarchy, at the beginning of the list are single DDR4 memory modules of 8 and 16 GB. Following them are more solid sets with a maximum reserve of up to 64 GB. Clock frequencies for DDR4 are 3200 and 3600 MHz. Timings - CL16/CL18, operating voltage - 1.35 V. In all cases, support for Intel XMP technology with pre-selected operating settings is declared.

And at the top of the list are the Thor DDR5 modules, launched in 2023, which are aimed at gaming enthusiasts planning to build a brand new gaming PC on the AMD AM5 or Intel LGA 1700 platform. Compared to DDR4, the fifth generation RAM operates at a higher frequency and has much higher bandwidth, and also supports Plug N Play and XMP/EXPO technologies. Lexar Thor DDR5 modules start at a frequency of 5200 MHz, the maximum memory capacity for a paired set can reach 64 GB, which significantly exceeds the RAM requirements of any gaming blockbuster in recent years.
