According to Transcend's logic, ESD drives are designed for people who spend a lot of time on the road. Therefore, the emphasis in them is not on supersonic speeds or flagship memory controllers, but on convenience. For example, the ESD230C and ESD270C drives are covered with a special scratch-resistant material, thanks to which the device will keep a fresh look even when it flies and rolls several tens of thousands of kilometers. At the same time, many representatives of this series turned out to be as compact as possible (often the size of a regular credit card), which simplifies transportation. The same ESD270C fits into a purse without any problems.

Another strength of the ESD models is the functionality provided by the proprietary software package. With it, the user can set up an automatic system backup or create specific data archiving templates. For example, copy data from selected folders at a specific time of the day of the week. In addition, Transcend Elite's built-in tools can help you recover accidentally deleted data or restore functionality in the event of an outage.

As for technical capabilities, almost all ESD devices are based on 3D TLC NAND memory and communicate using USB 3.2 gen1 / gen2 ports. In earlier models, the data transfer rate was limited to 540 MB / s; in newer models, these figures have almost doubled. In most cases, the range is represented by variations in volume of 250, 500 and 1000 GB.
