Professional security: five new products of the Ajax ecosystem

With the Ajax Socket smart socket, the eternal question "Is the iron turned off?" fades far into the background. Its integration into the Ajax device ecosystem allows you to control the power supply of connected devices manually, according to a specific scenario or according to a schedule.

The model skillfully disguises itself as a very ordinary outlet until you connect the consumer to it. From this moment on, the spectacular LED-backlight shimmers in different tones along the contour of the Ajax Socket's front part. She's not here for fun, but for the most practical purpose. The LED panel shows the level of electricity consumed by the device. The closer its shade is to red and purple, the more "voracious" the device connected to the outlet is.

The assets of the smart socket have protection systems against overheating and voltage surges in the power supply network. In addition, it does not need special installation, as it is implemented in the Ajax WallSwitch power remote control relay. The device is simply inserted into any existing outlet, and other devices are fueled by the life-giving power of voltage and current already through it.

The practical benefits of having such a socket in the home will be appreciated by all households. In fact, it turns your smartphone into a remote control of connected household appliances: from an electric kettle to an oil heater or an air humidifier. Well, as a bonus, it is worth noting the complete control of waste on electricity bills. The appearance of a smart socket was the first bell that marked the transition of Ajax from a high-end security alarm system to a smart home system.

Ajax Hub Plus is the heart of a new era security system. The command control centre monitors the operation of all security sensors and sends an alarm signal in case of emergency situations.

The hub is ready to work right out of the box. It is enough to connect it to the Internet, download the official application to your smartphone and register the central panel in it using a QR code. The model with the Plus prefix is connected to the World Wide Web in three ways: using an Ethernet cable, via a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, or via the mobile Internet using one of two SIM cards (backup connection). It is preferable to use an "over—the-air" connection — due to the absence of interference from the Ethernet wire, the range of communication with security sensors via the Jeweller protocol increases significantly (in open areas it reaches 2000 m).

The new generation of the central hub allows you to link more groups (up to 25), users (up to 99) and devices (up to 150). Sensors are connected to it literally in one click. The model also provides full or partial arming modes. Moreover, it is possible to connect any IP camera that can give an RTSP stream to the node element of the security system. All this together speaks in favor of the full operation of the complex as a security.

From the original Ajax Hub Price from 4 851 up to 6 410 ₴ the model with the Plus prefix got a built-in power supply, so that it can be connected to the network directly (bypassing sockets). In case of power outages, the hub assets have a backup battery for 16 hours of battery life. About all emergency situations, whether they are related to the loss of electricity or, for example, the opening of the device case, the hub immediately informs the bound users and sends an alarm signal to the security console.

How to build a security system and what to include in its composition depends on the preferences of users and the specifics of the guarded perimeter. But you can't do without Ajax Hub Plus in this case — the hub acts as the commander-in-chief and handles with the obligations of managing all sensors on a solid "five".

Replenishment of the Ajax motion detectors shelf, but not simple, but providing the opportunity to create a secure perimeter. The sensor detects movement when the boundaries of the pre-defined zone are violated.

The Ajax MotionProtect Curtain detection zone resembles a solid curtain. The model has an overview in the horizontal plane of the order of 6 °, but vertically this angle reaches 90 °. The element of the sensor is window and door openings, as well as entrance groups to buildings, where it forms a solid sensor wall of IR rays and creates the so—called curtain effect. The room can be guarded even with people inside — their movement is not recorded until someone crosses an invisible barrier.

The sensor detects movement at a distance of up to 8-10 m, without reacting to pets and interference of natural origin. Theoretically, it is also possible to use it outdoors: maintaining operability at air temperatures up to -25 °C, along with dust and water protection of the housing, is a vivid confirmation of this. However, the level of protection of the detector is not so high (IP54), so it is not recommended to subject it to prolonged water procedures under rain jets.

The category of additional trumps of the model includes tamper protection for removal and a high-level anti-masking system Grade 3. The latter means that the sensor is able to resist intruders with professional skills who have portable electronic equipment for hacking. The overall positive picture is crowned by the long—term autonomous operation of the detector — up to 4 years on the starting set of batteries.

There was a noticeable breakthrough in the new generation of Ajax motion detectors — one of the sensors that record the movement of objects received a simple camera for additional equipment. The name of this security device is Ajax MotionCam.

When motion is detected in the frame, the camera "clicks" the picture in a resolution of 320x240 pixels. In the era of rapid development of 4K technologies, such a low resolution causes an ironic smile, but the goals here are completely different. The main task of the motion detector is to determine that an object has been penetrated. And the photo of what is happening at this moment fully confirms it.

To transmit data from the sensor, a new Wings radio protocol is used, through which an alarm signal is received in just 150 ms from the moment the motion detector is triggered. In this way, it was decided to go in order not to have dependence on Wi-Fi infrastructure and to preserve the device's long-term battery life (at the level of existing representatives of the Ajax security sensors, i.e. for several years without replacing batteries).

The wireless sensor is mounted on the wall opposite doors, windows and other places where intruders are likely to enter. He does not react to four-legged pets (unless a huge great dane has settled in your house), and he determines a person unmistakably both in the winter cold and in the hot summer heat. With such a guard on guard to protect the home perimeter, no one will be able to slip unnoticed.

The vast majority of Ajax security sensors are designed for indoor use. The first-born in the line of sensors for protecting the house territory was the MotionProtect Outdoor gadget, equipped with a dual infrared PIR sensor.

The device scans the guarded perimeter for the appearance of a person in the field of view. Moreover, the sensor completely ignores small animals, birds and falling leaves. The level of its sensitivity along with the range of motion detection are flexibly adjusted. The maximum range of the device reaches 15 m. The intelligent LISA algorithm helps the sensor to cope with the task of accurately detecting people in a controlled area.

The risks outside the premises are noticeably higher than inside buildings. Therefore, in addition to tamper protection, the sensor got a high—level Grade 3 anti-masking system — it is able to resist experienced intruders with electronic devices for hacking. The sensor is also protected from dust and moisture according to the IP54 standard.

Ajax MotionProtect Outdoor life support issues are usually occupied by a tandem of CR123A format batteries. In return, the sensor can be connected to a DC 12V power supply directly. But the main thing about the sensor is the inability to limit the view so that it goes unnoticed. By establishing a new league of security devices, the model opens up wide prospects for Ajax security systems.
