Shooting in FullHD resolution, motion sensor, compact size, price.

Poor quality of night shooting, there may be problems with focus.

The DVR from the Falcon company bribes potential buyers with a democratic cost and the ability to shoot in FullHD format (with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels).

Despite the stated support for high resolution, the video sequence does not shine with super-quality. The numbers of the surrounding cars can be seen at a distance of 7-10 m. But only during the day — at dusk and at night, the quality of the shooting drops and even infrared illumination does not help him, two bulbs of which are located on the sides of the object of the device. It's not the most photosensitive camera matrix and plastic lenses in the design of the object that are to blame for everything.

The compact body of the DVR does not block the driver's view, and the power cut on the upper edge of the device allows you to bring the power wire to it unnoticeably. The entire rear panel of the recorder is occupied by an LCD display with a diagonal of 2.7". The controls are located on the sides, and a slot for a microSD memory card with a maximum capacity of up to 32 GB is on the bottom. The model is attached to the windscreen on a suction cup with a rotating mechanism around its own axis.

At times, the object of a car camcorder may have problems with focus, which is why the clarity of the video sequence deteriorates significantly and it is not possible to see the car numbers in the picture. The problem is solved by cleaning the windscreen in front of the DVR installation site. Taking into account the extremely affordable cost of the device, you can close your eyes to this drawback, especially since it manifests itself quite rarely.

Concealed installation, motion sensor, intuitive operation, affordable price.

Mediocre video recording quality, low efficiency of infrared illumination.

Price from 6 290 ₴

Stealth DVR-ST220 does not attract too much attention from the outside of the car, since both the camera and the DVR screen are enclosed directly in the rear-view mirror housing.

The concealed installation allows you to protect the device from possible theft. In addition, there is no need to install a recorder before each trip and, accordingly, hide it after arriving at the destination. Atypical mirrors give out only a few control buttons on the front panel, but it's not so easy to see them through the side windows.

The device's camera is capable of recording video in the maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FullHD format). In daylight, the numbers of cars around are viewed quite well, but the effectiveness of infrared illumination for shooting at night leaves much to be desired. In general, the video recording quality of the model can be described as mediocre.

The recorder is equipped with a motion detector and a G-sensor. The first one will help activate the start of video recording in case of motion detection near the car, which is relevant in the parking lot or parking lot, and the second sensor is designed to help in case of an accident — upon impact, the last video file is recorded in a separate folder so that it is easier to find it.

The 2.7" DVR screen is located in the middle part of the mirror. To prevent the driver from being distracted from the road once again, the display can be turned off. Well, another argument "for" is the affordable cost of the model — for relatively little money, the Stealth DVR-ST220 will be an excellent purchase for yourself or as a gift.

High-resolution video recording, ultra-wide-angle object, excellent picture quality in any shooting conditions, LDWS and FCWS passive security functions, the ability to connect to a smartphone via Wi-Fi.

Problems with localization in the menu.

Externally, the DVR from the ambitious Xiaomi company is very similar to the first generation of action cameras from a Chinese manufacturer. It has a similar object, which is slightly shifted to the side relative to the centre of the front panel, and the differences lie in the back — it is all given over to a large screen with a diagonal of 2.7".

The high-power object of the recorder with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 captures 165° of the surrounding reality in its field of view. Such an ultra-wide angle creates small distortions at the edges of the frame, and at the same time allows you to keep everything in sight. High-quality optics in conjunction with a highly sensitive image sensor provide a detailed picture at the output in almost any shooting conditions. During the day, the recorder instantly adjusts to various lighting conditions, and the night image boasts a good dynamic range.

The maximum video recording resolution is 2304x1296 pixels, which is an analogue of the Super FullHD format. To work with high resolution, you will need a high-speed memory card (not lower than Class 10).

In FullHD format with a recording speed of 30 fps and at lower resolutions, the "smart" LDWS and FCWS functions come to the driver's aid. They are responsible for controlling the lane and the distance to the car ahead, respectively. The lack of binding to the turn signals makes the LDWS function more useless, since the device will respond to all changes in the car.

The DVR menu items are signed with Chinese characters. But it's still not difficult to figure out the settings, because each position is indicated by an intuitive icon. In addition, it is possible to configure the recorder, update its firmware or quickly transfer the footage from it using a smartphone connected to the device via a wireless Wi-Fi network. To do this, it is enough to install the Yi Dashcam branded application on your mobile phone.

Reference. The greater the viewing angle of the DVR's object, the wider the space that the camera can cover when shooting, and the less risk that some significant detail will remain behind the frame.

Wide-angle object, excellent video recording quality, GPS module, motion sensor, LDWS and FCWS passive safety functions, can be used as a radar detector.

Mediocre sound recording quality.

A remarkable potential is hidden in the small body of the ParkCity DVR — the device performs the functions of a video recording, a security system, a radar detector, and also records the coordinates of the location and the speed of movement thanks to the built-in GPS module.

Video recording is given to the registrar without significant problems. With its help, you can get high-quality videos with a duration of 3 or 5 minutes. in a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with a viewing angle of 150°. High detail allows you to view the numbers of passing cars from a long distance both in daylight and at night. In the lower left corner of the video sequence, data on the current time and date values, as well as the speed of movement, are recorded.

The motion sensor is responsible for the security functions of the device, with the help of which a video recording command is given when activity is detected near the car. But the registrar performs the role of a radar detector by means of a GPS module and a database of tracking cameras embedded in the device's memory. When approaching the cameras with exceeding the permissible speed, the ParkCity DVR HD 780 gives an alarm signal calling to reset the gas.

A couple of passive safety functions were used on board the model: LDWS (lane control) and FCWS (distance control). The first system warns the driver about going out of the lane, and the second is designed to prevent a car collision due to non-compliance with the safe distance. Both functions work correctly, but for the successful operation of the lane control system, you will need to drive on a road with clearly marked markings.

The owners of the model blame the product reviews only for the mediocre quality of sound recording (the presence of extraneous noise and grinding). Otherwise, it will not be possible to make claims to the registrar — it is deservedly one of the most advanced devices for continuous video recording on the modern market.

Excellent video recording quality, GPS module, radar detector function, regular updating of current camera databases, compact housing.

High cost.

The South Korean brand Sho-Me has extensive experience in the production of radar detectors that detect the operation of police radars. A similar function is available in the arsenal of the Sho-Me Combo Smart DVR, which successfully detects such signals and warns the driver in advance about the need to comply with the speed limit.

A powerful Ambarella chip and a sensitive matrix are installed in the heart of the DVR — the main indicators of a high-end device. Video is recorded in the maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at a speed of 30 fps. The viewing angle of 135° provides a full-fledged capture of a four-lane road and roadsides on both sides of it. And the high detail of the video sequence allows you to view car numbers and road signs in almost any situation.

Signals from police radars are detected by the device at a distance of about 1 km from the patrol location. The DVR also has a built-in database on the location of cameras, which is regularly updated by the manufacturer on the official website. In case of exceeding the permissible speed on such a section of road, the device will give the driver an audible alert. The location of the cameras is determined by the GPS module.

Thanks to the presence of GPS on board the recorder, it is possible to print data on the current coordinates and speed of movement into the video. Together with the date and time, they are displayed in the lower left corner of the record.

The design of the DVR shows the attention of developers to details. Thus, the use of the screen brightness adjustment function makes it more comfortable to operate the device in the dark, and the ergonomic mount makes it easy to remove and install the device on the windscreen. Only its high cost can make you think about purchasing a recorder, which, nevertheless, is fully justified by the high quality of the device as a whole.
