Once upon a time, fireplaces were an integral part of residential heating. But it was a very long time ago, water heating, due to its efficiency, almost completely replaced the stove, but the habit of making fireplaces in living rooms still remained. Now it has become a sign of high class and even elite housing. The thing is that a person just likes to look at an open fire. There is something real and original about it. But, personally, I didn’t really want to make a real fireplace in the house. It is very expensive, and then you have to constantly buy firewood for it, clean the chimney and the like. In general, the electric fireplace seemed to me an interesting solution and I bought it. It's not just the fireplace itself, but also the surround that encompasses it. If you look at the cost from this perspective, the fireplace doesn't seem that expensive anymore. The surround is made in a classic style and blends perfectly with the room's interior. In this regard, I would recommend consulting with a knowledgeable interior designer. Not everyone has an innate sense of taste, and even those who do can experience unfortunate and costly missteps. The surround is made of MDF and finished, among other things, with natural veneer. The appearance is exceptionally good; my wife and children were thrilled and didn't even remember that it's not a real fireplace, but just an imitation. That's all because Dimplex managed to create a very artful imitation. I won't say the fire looks exactly like an authentic one; it's not. Rather, it looks more interesting than fire on real logs. The logs are vividly illuminated by LEDs, the "fire" constantly shifts and flickers. Moreover, aside from the decorative effect, this fireplace can also genuinely heat using the built-in fan heater. The switched on fan heater strongly dries the air, this is especially noticeable if it is used in the second stage, that is, at full two-kilowatt electric power. |
