Great while new, not very suitable for city cycle
6 January 2011
After using them last season, there were no complaints about the tires. I didn't hold back on starts and braking, and they showed all their excellent qualities. The grip on both ice and snow was superb, and there were no issues on clean asphalt either. Driving through slush was a bit worse, especially when braking, likely due to the directional tread pattern. The only negative was the noise and hum, but this is probably an issue with all studded tires. After a few months of driving, the studs wore down, and that's when everything started—uncertain braking on ice; in general, all the qualities became drawbacks.
Very good tires when they're new; no complaints on packed snow and ice, everything is satisfactory.
A loud noise comes from the studs, and if the studs become blunt, the tires practically stop being winter tires and significantly lose their qualities.

good model, liked it

Excellent quality of Nokian, I really confirm this on the second model already in my practice. The tires are basically not too expensive, considering the Chinese ones which are 30% cheaper, I wouldn't save, especially since I drive often and far, and I don't really want to trust the Chinese.
Dedicated to today's snowfall))) I felt an urge like never before to boast about my tires today. This morning, I watched my neighbors trying to drive out from the courtyard, pushing each other's cars to get out. Of course, I lent a hand pushing them as well, since I wanted to drive too. But now, back to my tires—nobody needed to push me. I crawled through all the stationary cars like claws, everyone looked at me with envy and my studs. Those who claimed studs were useless quietly stood by, grinding their teeth, watching me forge ahead. On the road, I saw many skids and understood that I was driving with confidence, but if I didn’t make it, someone could easily hit me. The car grips the road securely with the studs; the braking distance on slushy snow and ice increases but is definitely twice less than that of ordinary winter tires. This is my second winter with these tires, and I have experience with how they behave. Speaking about the noise from the studs, I’ll be honest—in the snow, you can't hear them, but on dry asphalt, they make an unreal clatter. But I’ve gotten used to it, and at high speeds, it’s not noticeable. The tires are soft and comfortable. Of course, I only have front-wheel drive, and I understand that with all-wheel drive, I could drive out of anywhere, LOL. My size is 15 195 55; despite the low profile, the tread height is quite high, which is primarily what helps, with the studs being an added assist. From experience, if the stud is factory-installed, it will last longer, meaning it won't fall out easily. If it's not factory-installed, it will be worthless.
for me, the problem is only one thing, and it's not the price. The problem is the noise from the studs, nothing else bad. And even then, getting used to the noise is easy, as long as you don't pay too much attention and don't worry about it. I don't hear them at all anymore.
