I manually set the frequency to 3600 MHz with timings 18-19-19-19-38. I came across Hynix C-Die memory with good overclocking potential. Started immediately at 3600 frequency XMP 3733 MHz does not work on Ryzen 3600 ![]() |
I took 4 sticks of 8GB 3733 MHz 17-21-21. A bit of theory for Ryzen owners. Infinity Fabric (the processor bus) always operates at the memory frequency. Infinity Fabric has its own frequency limit. In most processors, this is 3600MHz (although you might get lucky). In Zen2 (Ryzen 3000), you can set a divider so that Infinity Fabric operates at half the memory speed, but this greatly increases latency and is only worth it with very expensive sticks that go way beyond 4000MHz. By default, the divider is off. If your computer doesn't start at all when you run memory on an XMP profile at 3733MHz, it's a sure sign that the processor can't handle it, and the memory frequency needs to be lowered to 3600. On my Ryzen 3600, the memory runs at 3600MHz 16-19-19-39 CR1 with 1.4V. 3600MHz 16-18-18-38 CR1 results in a blue screen, 3733 MHz doesn't boot BIOS. P.S Modification to 3600 MHz is the same memory with a different XMP. Price. 3600MHz 16-19-19-39 CR1 for 6k RUB for a set of 2 sticks of 8GB each. This is not a bad price. XMP doesn't work on AMD Ryzen. Need to manually overclock. They say Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 3200 MHz at the same price gets up to 16-18-18-38 CR1 at 3600 frequency. However, maybe they just got lucky. There are several revisions of this memory with different chips. You can't know the chip manufacturer before purchase. After purchase, without removing the heatsink, it might also be impossible. No program detects them. I got sticks with an XMP profile of 17-21-21, although the site says 17-19-19. Don't fall for the provocation. Although 3733 MHz 17-19-19 is typical for Samsung b-die, and 3733 MHz 17-21-21 for Hynix-CJR, no one will put such expensive memory here. It's not possible to overclock much higher than XMP. use Patriot Memory Viper 4 DDR4 2x8Gb few months |
Pay attention to CHIPS!. If you take 3200, you may receive 3 options and several sub-options. 1 - Samsung chips, which are VERY RARE for this model (specifically 3200MHz). If you take a higher frequency, then you'll get all your 3600 with normal chips. 2. Hynix or Micron, I don't know and don't remember what others wrote here. Can't say anything, just average chips. They should take 3466, I think. 3. If the chips are "Nanya Technology" - don't rush to swear and break the RAM out of hatred. The internet says that this RAM takes both 3600 and nothing (haha, classic). There's a full guide for overclocking to 3600. BUT this guide didn't help me at all (yes, yes, I got this RAM). I had the worst chip option. They didn't take 3200, even though they should out of the box. Timings with XMR couldn't be adjusted. So, 3200 with AUTO timings were a failure. Tons of errors flew and everything went wrong. Only 3000 CL18 were stable, if I'm not mistaken. Timings also couldn't be adjusted much due to errors. IF YOUR RAM DOES NOT HOLD THE CLAIMED FREQUENCY - RETURN IT AND DEMAND A REPLACEMENT WITH A GOOD ONE. This should be considered as a warranty case, so you don't need to rush. But it's highly recommended to check, overclock to the maximum, and adjust the timings within 2 weeks. You don't necessarily have to chase the frequency, you can go for 3466 if the RAM allows. Try not to exceed CL18 timings (I think that's a reasonable maximum, but that's what I think). Cheapness, a chance to buy good trims, beauty and height adjustment (you can unscrew the radiators) Not all RAM with a frequency of 3200 can reach its claimed frequency. And I'm not the only one. Be careful. But these chips, I think, can only be at 3200 or lower. The store refused to exchange the product, returned the money. Naturally, the other offers became more expensive, and the same model was no longer available in that store. Anything can happen. use Patriot Memory PV416G320C6K less than month |
