Excellent detail. Excellent color rendition. Focus speed. There is almost no vignetting. Holds backlight very well. Excellent rendering in the shadows. Good for both portraits and landscapes. Heavy. At aperture starting from 2.8 to 4 it is soft, that is, very soft. but for night shooting it's ok. use Pentax 16-50mm f/2.8* IF SDM SMC DA ED AL month or more i recommend it should buy |

Knowing about the shortcomings of this lens, I purchased it in the following manner:
1. Went to the store and took about 20 photos at different focal lengths and apertures.
2. Recorded the serial number. Checked on pentaxforum.com to see whether the motor is from the new series or not. Only after that did I buy it.
