The target audience of Team Group MP drives are people who are looking for an inexpensive and reliable solid-state drive that will help minimize cable clutter inside the PC and speed up system startup if it was installed on an old hard drive. The main feature of the MP series is its extremely affordable prices, often even lower than those of popular 2.5-inch SSD drives, which have become secondary after the spread of the NVMe protocol.

Most models of the MP series are simple memory strips on which 3D TLC NAND flash memory modules are strung, and an inexpensive controller from a trusted manufacturer is responsible for controlling the orchestra. Instead of a radiator or heat sink, there is a regular sticker with the name, barcode and article number, which are more common to see on the box rather than the drive itself. The list of advantages includes a 5-year warranty, increased MTBF and, in some cases, an additional RAM cache chip.

As for the model range, it was initially represented by far from the fastest models with NVMe support and linear read-write speeds of around 1500 MB/s. With the widespread adoption of PCI-E 4.0 interfaces, the manufacturer was able to increase both linear data exchange rates and the overall I/O operations without increasing the final cost of the product. As a result, Team Group turned out to be a not too bright, but affordable alternative to such inexpensive and popular SSDs as Kingston NV2, Patriot P300 and Crucial P3.
