Models of the Swift series are, usually, stylish and elegant laptops that have won the recognition of buyers due to the combination of functionality, power and low price. For example, the new Acer Swift 3 SF314-41 boasts high performance, a good 14-inch display and a solid aluminium body and is priced at $800.

Based on Ryzen 7

In terms of equipment, the new Swift 3 has become one of the rare models based on AMD hardware. The fact is that at the time of the Bulldozer architecture, AMD relied on accelerated processor unit technology, but they miscalculated and now Intel reigns in the mobile market. However, with the transition to the Zen + architecture, AMD is slowly returning to the game and more and more models with Ryzen processors are coming out.

SSD: power up in seconds

Returning to Swift 3, there is a mid-range quad-core Ryzen 7 with an additional four virtual cores and a maximum frequency of 4 GHz. In terms of performance in games, it shows numbers approximately at the level of quad-core Core i5, but it costs much less. Plus, the built-in video core is much more interesting here than graphics from Intel and allows you to play undemanding online games like Fortnite and Tanks without brakes. Throw in 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD to that list and you've got the kind of power you're more used to seeing in $200 more models.

Works off every penny

In terms of additional features, Acer Swift 3 works out every penny, but does not try to jump above your head. There is a fingerprint scanner, a full set of four USB ports, a backlit keyboard and a card reader. Plus a modern screen with thin frames. Although, the screen quality here is far from super: the colour gamut goes into cold shades, and the picture lacks a little sharpness. Here they are clearly saved. Well, instead of the pre-installed Windows 10 operating system, Swift 3 has free Linux.
