I just bought the speakers, will install them after finishing soundproofing, but I already have something to share. Objective: I need a component 16 front from the HU, NON-Chinese, preferably a silk tweeter, realistically available for sale for up to $100. It turns out the options aren't that great. The candidates were Kicx PD, Focal-Auditor, Ground Zero, Jbl 760, Challenger 650/2, Hertz, and Morel Maximo. Like everyone, I read reviews, watched videos, and in the end during the audition: ground-zero sounded flat, focal had a dip in mids and a very strong sound axis bind, Morel... I really hoped it'd be better, but didn't like the tweeters, although they're still better than the previous ones. I didn’t listen to Jbl and Hertz this time (had heard them before), everyone knows about their tweeters anyway. But I want to talk not only about the sound but also about something I've never encountered—QUALITY! This will be useful for those who buy online. The antiheroes here are Focal and Challenger (a real shame, as I initially chose among them). The common issue—they are uneven! The bullet on both mids of the Focal and one Challenger, and on the other one, the suspension is glued crookedly. And this on new packaged sets. Ground Zero has very thin wires. That is why when I took the Helix in my hands, I immediately bought it. Everything is even, symmetrical, visually the midbass basket and terminals are sturdier. The plastic quality is excellent, especially compared to the Focal. The soldering on the crossover is even and uniform. I’m not an aesthetic, but I'm sure if the exterior is carelessly made, the inside will look the same. Bought based on very subjective criteria. After installation, I'll continue the review. Sensitivity honestly specified at 1W, not 2.83V no cups for mounting the tweeter at an angle just bought Helix Xmax 216 i recommend it should buy |
