Sliding Butterfly Case

Thanks to its small size, unusual butterfly case and a massive recess for a carabiner, the Netac U782C just asks for a bunch of keys and a key fob from a car alarm. I also liked that it has a one-piece body, in which the upper part rotates clockwise, opening or closing one of the USB connectors. On the one hand, the classic USB A, on the other, the more modern USB-C. In times of war of formats, this is a great advantage, which frees you from the need to use an additional adapter.

cold metal

The second advantage of the Netac U782C is the minimum heating during the recording of large files. Thanks to a not quite typical sliding design, the metal plates do not fit too tightly to each other and heat up much weaker than compact drives in an all-metal case. If you plan to use it daily, overwriting tens of gigabytes of data, the importance of this factor cannot be underestimated.

Roller coaster

In comparison to this, the speed of the Netac U782C was a bit disappointing. According to official figures, the buyer receives a peak of 110 MB / s during linear read operations and only 30 MB / s during writes. In synthetic measurements, the “speedometer” showed even slightly higher speeds, however, at some point, when transferring an uncompressed 4K movie with a volume of more than 50 GB, the flash drive seemed to lose its breath, and the speed dipped several times. And the copy schedule was like a roller coaster, which indicates trolling. Although, the body was hardly hot. It's hard to say whether this was just a test sample problem or all U782C series flash drives don't like to work with large data arrays.
