In parallel with the premiere of the OnePlus Ace smartphone, the Chinese brand OnePlus introduced the new Buds N TWS headphones with an unusual design. In fact, these are classic wireless earbuds, but instead of a shell with electronics like the Galaxy Buds, all the chips and sensors are hidden in a flat AirPod-style rod. Each stem houses a glossy touchpad that adds a touch of flair to the headphones and sets them apart from the competition. The combination of a white body and an emerald panel looks especially interesting. The OnePlus Buds N are powered by 12.4mm drivers, which can be further tuned using the equalizer. Gamers should be pleased with Dolby Atmos support and game mode with support for low input lag. In this mode, the headphones are maximally synchronized with what is happenin...g on the smartphone screen, providing synchronous sound and image transmission. For speech transmission in the headphones, a pair of microphones with noise reduction functions are provided. However, they do not support active digital noise cancellation like many competitors under $50. OnePlus considered that the vacuum design of the headphones already provides a decent level of passive noise isolation. Headphones connect to a smartphone, tablet or laptop via an energy-efficient Bluetooth 5.2 interface with a range of up to 10 meters. Along with the electronics inside each capsule is one tiny battery (41 mAh) with a promised battery life of up to 7 hours. The headset also comes with a case with a built-in 480 mAh battery and support for fast charging. Five minutes of charging is enough to provide up to 4 hours of music listening time. Plus, the headphones are not afraid of drops of water and sweat (IP55 protection), so they are quite suitable for going to the gym, jogging outdoors or cycling.
