Stylish on-ear headphones designed primarily for the youth audience. Thanks to the brand, quality design and low price, the product can serve as a good choice for daily use. At first glance, it seems that there are aluminium parts in the headphone design and, indeed, the illusion is very convincing. It can only be dispelled by tactile sensations, it is an ordinary metallized plastic. The design of this model is really bright and attractive, it seems that this device is in a much higher price category. The design is folding with swivel bowls. When folded, the Philips SHL3160 headphones fit easily into a jacket pocket. The pressure of the soft ear cushions to the ears is sufficient for a good hold of the headphones when moving the head, and at the same time it does not create discomfort. The...cable is round, with an L-shaped plug, without a remote control and a microphone. The manufacturer claims an extended range of reproducible frequencies (from a minimum of 8 Hz and up to 24 kHz), so that the headphones should cope well with music in almost any style and direction. The sensitivity is 107 dB.

The headphones are excellent for the money.
 27 August 2020
Used for several years, everything was fine, the headphones are excellent, the size is adjustable, and the headphones rotate, which was also pleasing. The sound is satisfactory, but the frequency range is no more than 8-20000, otherwise excellent headphones
Sound, noise isolation, rotating ears.
With prolonged use, the ears (ears, not headphones) sweat due to the material of the headphones
use Philips SHL3160 more than year

Inexpensive headphones with balanced sound without bias to bass
 23 August 2017
Now all headphones are overwhelmingly suffering from a "bass" disease. Almost 90% of models costing up to $50, which is the most purchased and mass segment, have bass where it's needed, for example, in modern pop music, and where it ruins everything. Listening to classical or neoclassical music in such headphones is completely unacceptable, it's an insult to the ears. But I managed to find a relatively inexpensive model from a reliable and reputable manufacturer. These are precisely these Philips.
I think the most important thing for headphones is the sound. They can look amazing, have a stunning, fantastically attractive design, but if there is no acceptable sound quality, then everything else is meaningless. So, the sound of this model is exactly the way I like it. Someone may find it boring, someone will say that it is dry. But I will say that there is no bias towards any frequency ranges and the sound is balanced. Yes, if you turn on a pop club track, you may feel a lack of bass. But this is not because the headphones do not give bass, but because without a deafening booming bass this track is just an empty shell, there is nothing else there. So I consider smooth and detailed sound to be a big plus, now it is almost impossible to find such sound for such money. By the way, they look attractive. The design is modern, I would say DJ-like, and your ears are characteristically spinning. There is a one-year warranty.
Inside the headband, in the upper part, it is customary to make a soft insert, this simply adds comfort. Why didn't Philips do this? There can only be one answer - they saved money. The cord is short, it is convenient to use with a smartphone and laptop, but you can't connect to a personal computer, the length is not enough. And they also warm your ears very much. I think they will be great in the fall, in October, but in the summer your ears sweat.
