I have never had anything to do with sports. When I was young, I sometimes went to the gym at work (I work in an IT company), and sometimes rode a bicycle. But when, by the age of 35, I gradually accumulated almost 25 kilograms of excess weight and climbing even 4 flights of stairs began to cause shortness of breath, it became clear that I needed to move and pull myself together. The watch helped a lot with this. It’s one thing to overcome yourself in your head, but quite another to see on the graphs how your daily activity gradually increases, your heart rate stabilizes under load and no longer makes you want to immediately call an ambulance)) In short, I recommend it! This is not just a trendy but primitive fitness tracker or another "kinda sporty" watch. It's a truly functional device that you can wear 24 hours a day, and the more I use it, the more I like it. First and foremost, I want to note its modern and stylish appearance. The screen is high-quality, easily readable in any lighting, and touch-sensitive. The resolution is small, 128 by 128 pixels, but that's sufficient for me. Now to the main point. These watches can assess and record almost any physical activity, from walking to swimming. Importantly, they allow continuous heart rate monitoring. This provides the opportunity to assess the body's readiness for such loads, and thus, accurately adjust it to my abilities. In addition, the watch easily syncs with the smartphone, displays its messages and notifications, is equipped with a GPS tracker, and even functions as a smart alarm clock. The price is pretty decent. For that kind of money it was already possible to find the previous generation of Samsung Gear watches. But the desire to get a heart rate monitor with increased accuracy outweighed it; after all, I bought them specifically to monitor my body. |
The M430 model from the Finnish brand Polar is the Polar M400 watch, pumped in all aspects for adherents of an active lifestyle, which has won an army of fans around the globe. In particular, the wearable gadget will be appreciated among runners.
Innovations
A key innovation in the design of the watch was the appearance of an optical sensor for counting the number of contractions of the heart muscle, which measures the pulse during exercise and sleep. Also, the watch has got a long-awaited vibration motor. Instead of annoying sound signals for others, it quietly but clearly lets the owner of the model know about all kinds of notifications — whether they are notifications from applications or signals about the start of work or the end of a workout.
Battery life time
The display of the Polar M430 is monochrome, complemented by an eye-pleasing blue backlight for better visibility of data in the dark. In order to conserve battery power, it is almost always in the off state. Information on the screen is displayed in several lines, and its total resolution is 128x128 pixels. With an inactive GPS module, you will need to recharge the watch less than twice a month, and in the active GPS tracking mode with the most accurate location determination, the gadget is able to stay afloat for about 8 hours.
Personal trainer
One of the highlights of smartwatches is the ability to build training programs to achieve specific running goals with a training duration of 9 to 15 weeks (for example, to overcome the distance of a half marathon). The watch acts as a kind of personal trainer who paints a detailed activity plan for several weeks in advance. It includes interval training, strength exercises, muscle training, statics, stretching and provides time for rest.
Sleep monitor
A separate line in the story about the Polar M430 bothers to SleepPlus technology, which helps to learn more about how you sleep. The watch not only produces standard measurements of the quality and phases of sleep, but also allows you to set the desired duration of rest. Every morning, the gadget evaluates sleep on a scale from 1 to 5 and gives recommendations for improving its quality for better well-being. The best way to analyze all received data is through the Polar Flow web client, although there is also an app of the same name for mobile devices.
