Instantaneous water heater with a power of 5 kW with simple mechanical control and compact overall dimensions for horizontal installation. One of the older models of the Atmor Basic series, designed for direct connection to a 230 V household power supply. The manufacturer positions it as an affordable product of the basic price category, intended for domestic use. Perfect for showers, wash basins and kitchens. The main advantage of the Atmor Basic 5kW Dush electric instantaneous water heater is high-speed water heating, which compares favorably with storage boilers that heat up for at least several tens of minutes. Able to perform the duties of a backup source of hot water in case of planned / emergency shutdown of centralized hot water supply. Productivity reaches 3 L/min (at heating on 2...5 °C) that is quite enough for normal domestic needs. The water heater is controlled by a simple electromechanical system with indication and protection against overheating. Two switches allow the machine to work in three different power modes (2, 3 or 5 kW), which allows you to adjust the temperature of the water leaving the machine in steps. Modest overall dimensions will help covert installation. The maximum heating temperature is 65 °C. Significant electrical power requires wiring with a cross section of 2.5 mm².

A good instantaneous water heater with some design flaws
 23 May 2016
A storage electric boiler is installed in my city apartment, but in a country house I decided to experiment and, in addition to a 100 liter boiler, I bought this flow heater. The calculation was simple - for cases when we come to the house with the whole family and we need hot water all the time, that is, a storage boiler. And if everyone together decided to take a shower or, conversely, I’m the only one in the house, then a flow heater is preferable. Bought and installed by myself. Regarding the installation, I would like to convey "a couple of kind words" to the half-wit who made the outlet pipes plastic. Tightening union brass nuts or couplings on them is an incomparable "pleasure". But overall I'm happy with the boiler.
Less energy consumption than a storage boiler. For example, to take a shower, I need to heat up a 100-liter storage heater to at least 40-45 degrees. And this is at least an hour of operation of a two-kilowatt heating element. And with a flow-through boiler, I will fit ten minutes into the operation of a five-kilowatt apparatus. In the first case, I spend 2 kWh, in the second 0.83 kWh. 240% difference, yes. The water temperature is set almost instantly, in 15-20 seconds. No need to wait 2-3 hours as with storage heaters. You can adjust the heating power, but this function is meaningless from the word at all - even at 5 kilowatts of power it is almost impossible to get a good pressure of really hot water, and if the power is further reduced, what will be the output temperature?
Very strong dependence of temperature on water pressure. And the pressure in my summer can walk very noticeably. It works unstable at low pressure, protection is triggered and the boiler shuts down in an emergency.

good model, I liked it

Using a storage water heater for a shower is not always convenient. Especially often there are problems when washing for one or two people, and more. As a rule, the last hot water will be little or not enough at all. Therefore, at my sawmill, in the shower room, I decided to install an instantaneous water heater. Israeli Atmor flow boilers have been sold in our market for a long time, they have a moderate cost and are provided with a one-year warranty. After six months, I can say that not everything is as good as it seemed before the purchase.
Fast start. It reaches a constant temperature literally in 10-12 seconds. Compare with waiting hours for storage boilers. The amount of hot water is limited only by your desire. There are three power levels: 2, 3 and 2+3=5 kW. You can use the first two stages only in summer, with non-cold incoming water. We work exclusively in 5 kW mode.
The first problems started during installation. The plumber swore frantically as he tried to screw the metal union nuts onto the plastic outlet pipes of the boiler. During installation on one of the pipes, I damaged the thread and tried to seal this place for a long time. I have no doubts about the qualifications of a plumber, he is by no means a hand-ass, but what the designer thought, putting plastic threads on the hot water outlet, is not entirely clear. The maximum temperature is obtained at a rather mediocre pressure and not too cold source water. In winter, when the temperature of cold water drops below ten degrees, getting at least 35 degrees at the outlet of the boiler is already happiness. The temperature is regulated by the pressure of the water, and if the pressure drops, and this happens regularly, because there are other consumers on the same pipe, then at best the temperature rises sharply, and at worst the protection works and the boiler turns off. Requires a separate power line, which is not surprising, because the current consumption exceeds 20 A.
