The problem of too dry air didn't bother my wife and me until our first child was born. Children, especially newborns, are much more sensitive to excessively low humidity. Their skin is thinner, and their mucous membranes do not yet have a fully developed immune system. Therefore, I took care of this issue in advance and was about to buy a regular ultrasonic humidifier. Such devices are inexpensive, but it turned out they have serious drawbacks. When operating, they disperse tiny droplets of water, known as cold steam, and these droplets settle on the furniture, leaving a whitish residue. This residue consists of hardness salts found in any natural water. To prevent this, you need to use distilled or demineralized water, which is costly. Eventually, a solution was found, and now we have this "air washer" working at home. It works on the principle of cold evaporation, therefore it does not give steam either warm or cold. In this case, only pure water vapor enters the air, and everything else, including salts, remains in the water. In addition to moisturizing, it also cleans the air from dust and allergens. Safe from the point of view of bacterial contamination, there is a special cartridge for the destruction of the bacterium. It also has a high-voltage plasma filter that helps remove dust in a mode where humidification is not needed. It works very quietly, almost silently. Consumes very little electricity. Pretty big sizes. Despite the large size, the performance is clearly less than that of ultrasonic models. This device is barely enough for two rooms with a total area of 20 square meters, it would not be enough for the declared 30. Due to the active evaporation of water, it not only moisturizes, but also cools the air. But this can be written down in the shortcomings of any humidifier, physics is like that. |
