The new Nikon Speedlight SB-800 features i-TTL wireless flash control, a further development of the D-TTL technology used with the D1 series cameras, and additional features that include advanced wireless control - wireless multi-flash control, flash exposure lock (FV lock), automatic high-speed FP synchronization and flash light pulse colour temperature control.
There is also a new extended-area AF-assist illuminator, matched to the new 11-spot Multi-CAM 2000 autofocus module used in the new Nikon D2H. Additional flash options include a built-in wide-angle diffuser (for shooting with lenses that have an angle of view corresponding to a focal length of 14mm in 135 [35mm] format), a guide number of 38 (ISO 100, 35mm flash head zoom position), and flash head zoom range from 24mm to 105mm when using auto zoom (in 5mm increments from 35-105mm).
