My first e-reader was a Siemens CX65 phone with a 1.9-inch screen and the ManiacReader Java application installed. Wow, how many years have passed, but I still remember all these little things)) Then there was another phone, but the 2.2-inch screen was much more comfortable. Then there was an attempt to switch to a smartphone, but the smartphone did not take root. By the nature of my work, it is much easier for me to use a push-button telephone, and for three years I read Fujitsu-Siemens from a PDA. And only this spring, when the CCP died of natural causes, I finally bought myself a normal e-book reader. Its screen is a real treat for the eyes. The lighting is gorgeous. I've seen screens of this kind before, but seeing and actually using them are very different things. It may not be as contrasty as conventional LCD screens, but it's even better for the eyes. Understands almost all known e-book formats. I use the FB2 and EPUB formats the most. There are no problems, it scrolls briskly, as far as it can be said about E-Ink-screens. Resolution 1024x768 with a diagonal of 15 centimeters is enough. There is a built-in browser, with the help of a gigahertz processor, it moves not very fast, but confidently. The WiFi adapter is similar in range to a mid-range smartphone, but it eats up the battery very actively. But without it, the battery holds very well. Thanks to the soft-touch plastic, the case is very pleasant to hold in your hands, but it does not just collect fingerprints, it collects ALL fingerprints in general. I think any forensic expert would like this plastic))) But these are all flowers, berries begin when reading pdf files. If we are talking about small text files, then there are no problems, but God forbid you open a file with a lot of graphics and a size of more than 25 to 50 megabytes. The reader slows down with this very much. But after waiting, you can somehow view and read. But files larger than 50 megabytes simply hang the reader tightly. |
In many stores, the reader from the PocketBook company has become famous under the identical model name — Touch Lux 3. This nuance must be taken into account when searching for a device.
advanced screen
From its predecessor in the face of Pocket Book Touch Lux 626, which still enjoys well-deserved popularity with the public, the book has a more advanced screen. It is built using E Ink Carta technology — the substrate has become whitish, and the characters on the display are more contrasting. Otherwise, the "reader" repeats all the features of the younger brother, because he turned out to be truly successful and easy to use.
Assembly
The build quality of the device is extremely positive. In the hand, it feels monolithic, which is achieved thanks to a convenient ledge on the back cover. But you can still make a complaint about the plastic case — it is easily soiled and collects fingerprints. The case, which is sold separately from the device, will help to correct the situation.
Read all!
The reader can easily read the vast majority of modern e-book formats, including Amazon's proprietary MOBI "reader" resolution. You can store text files both in the internal memory of the device (out of 4 GB, about 3 GB is available to the user), and on a microSD memory card (up to 32 GB). Problems with opening books can only occur when trying to read heavy PDF files (over 50 MB in size) — in some cases, the model simply freezes and requires a reboot.
Wireless network
Among the microcircuits of the device, a piece of space is allocated for the Wi-Fi module, through which access to the Internet is opened for downloading books or surfing through a browser. The touch screen makes it easy to navigate, and LED backlighting helps relieve eye strain when trying to view content in low-light conditions.
Comfort
Reading comfort is also achieved by fine-tuning the text display parameters: the book user can change the style and size of fonts, line spacing, hyphens, indents, and other similar settings. And although the title of the flagship PocketBook Touch Lux 626 Plus falls short of just a little, we can recommend it for purchase to everyone without exception, since the reader can offer all the necessary conditions for comfortable consumption of text content.
