Firewood in the boiler burns very slowly and this heat is almost completely converted into the heat of the coolant. Due to the low speed and long burning time, an expensive heat accumulator is not needed. Ash accumulates at the very bottom, but often it will not be necessary to clean it. It really depends on the wood. In the worst case, you will have to tinker once a week. Firewood eats different, but it is best to load medium and large chocks of not very resinous species. Coniferous wood with slow burning gives a lot of resinous pollution. The longest operating time and the best calorific value was obtained on “euro firewood”. But they are pricey.
