The Asus TUF Gaming series of laptops appeared in the company's assortment quite recently, but has already managed to win the love of gamers. Usually, laptops of the line have low weight for their category (2.7 kg), optimal filling and affordable price compared to other powerful 17-inch models.

In terms of equipment, the new Asus TUF Gaming FX705DU has become one of the rare gaming models based on AMD hardware. The heart of the laptop is a mid-range quad-core Ryzen 7 with an additional four virtual cores and a maximum frequency of 4 GHz. In terms of performance in games, it shows numbers approximately at the level of quad-core Core i5, but it costs much less.

GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

But the video adapter here is from NVIDIA, since AMD did not have time to fully update the Radeon line. Namely, an improved version of the GeForce GTX 1660 with the Ti index. The card is quite solid and allows you to play at FullHD and high/ultra settings in virtually any gaming hit of 2019, be it MK 11 or Rage 2. And 6 GB of internal video memory creates a good foundation for the future. In terms of hardware, a 512 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM complete the picture. And here we have a twofold situation. On the one hand, 8 GB is now quite close, on the other hand, the price of $ 1200 looks pretty “delicious”, and an additional 8 GB bar can be purchased and installed in a free slot.

Excellent display and shock-resistant case

The laptop's strengths include a high-quality 17-inch IPS display with large viewing angles, good transmission and a high level of responsiveness. During testing, we were also pleased with the quality of the built-in audio card with support for DTS Headphone X, a comfortable keyboard with Asus Aura backlight synchronization and a fairly efficient cooling system that did not allow the case to heat up during battles in Battlefield 5. And don't forget about the shock-resistant case that meets the military standard MIL-STD-810G.

Noisy

The disadvantages of the laptop include a limited set of USB ports (only 3 pieces and no USB-C) and a noisy cooling system. Although, given the affordable price and the specifics of gaming laptops, this should not affect the purchase decision.
