Writing from 2020, bought it second-hand, fiddled with it since it was used, brought it to "like new" condition, stereo sound is a cool thing! Most modern smartphones don’t use 2 speakers simultaneously as one is in the front and the other in the back, but this one has both in the front! The camera today is not as cool as it was back then, auto mode is lousy, but in manual it's much better, it records video decently, liked the 120 frames/sec mode, convenient slow-motion in the gallery, sound in headphones is also good, display though 720p is enough for this screen size! Battery lasts a long time, especially compared to the iPhone 6s (compared with a friend, who always carries a power bank), performance is still sufficient to run any game (Standoff 2 runs on ultra at 60 FPS), no system lags! The latest Android version today is 7.1.1, update was released in 2017, it's a pity that Sony forgot about the smartphone and updates don't come out. Fast charging is indeed fast, memory is a bit scarce for 2020 but still enough, pity the charging port is not type-c but micro USB, but it's okay. Fits well in hand, but the back glass scratches quickly if carried without a case. Convenient camera button, press and the camera opens, with this button, you can first focus like on a camera and then take a photo. The fingerprint works as it should, the button is conveniently placed - took the phone, turned it on, unlocked it, and hold it. NFC is a useful thing, now even not all Xiaomi over 10,000 have NFC! Even in 2020, it has decent functionality! Before purchasing the Z5 Compact, I used the Z1 Compact for two years and I want to say that the quality has generally deteriorated. See below for more details. Everyone liked it too. Camera, speed, screen, battery, waterproof. 1. I was very pleased to see the lack of a charging flap (compared to the Z1), but as soon as water gets into the AUX, the phone seems to think headphones are being inserted, and it starts to glitch. It's impossible to remove the water; I've tried blowing it out, etc., nothing helps, you just have to wait for it to dry, which wasn't an issue with the Z1. 2. After 2-3 months of use, occasionally the person I was talking to couldn't hear me. This "bug" was fixed by rebooting. It seems to have resolved now. 3. Now (6 months of use) the problem is much more serious. The camera won't turn on, and neither restarting nor resetting to factory settings helps. I will be taking it to a service center. I've been familiar with Sony smart phones for a long time! slt26i, z3 and now z5! Honestly, I’m not particularly excited yet! For that kind of money, the only thing that pleases me so far is the camera! In short: the battery goes from 100 to 30 in 8 hours, this is the Internet, Viber. and even just watching a video on YouTube gets warm! Which is not very nice! Performance
The 4.6-inch "baby" screen has HD resolution (1280x720 pixels). This format does not require a high consumption of resources, so the smartphone is one of the most performant devices based on Android: in the AnTuTu synthetic test, it scores about 76,500 points. The merit of such a high score lies with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, which is paired with 2 GB of RAM. This bundle ensures the launch of any games at maximum graphics settings. By the way, due to the low resource intensity, the smartphone is practically devoid of the overheating problem inherent in the Snapdragon 810.
Younger
In addition to the screen resolution, the smartphone differs from the older brothers of the Z5 line (Sony Xperia Z5 and Sony Xperia Z5 Premium) with a plastic case. Despite this, it has dust and water protection according to the IP68 standard, as well as easy access to all analogue control keys. There's even a responsive fingerprint scanner built into the power button on the right side.

The main camera module has grown slightly in resolution compared to the previous generation of the Z series (Sony Xperia Z3 Compact).
