I try to handle household appliances with care, but it seems this coating is indeed the most durable. After a year of daily ironing, there isn't a single scratch on the iron's soleplate. I've heard this coating is scratch-resistant, but if it's struck, it can be easily damaged since it's very fragile. I haven't had to test this, but so far, it's all ok. It also heats up very quickly. I usually take out and turn on the iron, set up the ironing board, and by that time, the iron is already hot. It takes about 30 seconds to heat up, no more.
