I’ve been wanting a smartwatch for a long time, as I’m actively involved in sports. But brands like Garmin are not really affordable for me, so I decided to look for an alternative. Naturally, the alternative was in the form of Samsung, or cheap Garmin (for example 230). But if the first ones were still a little expensive, the second ones were purely for sports, without any multimedia component. Specifically, I liked Verge for its price and functionality. It’s strange, of course, that Xiaomi put a priority OS there, but in practice it turned out that it has enough applications for sports and navigation + a bunch of operating modes and measurements. I’ll say right away that the data collection application here is a bit crude, it doesn’t work badly, but it clearly lacks functionality + updates are installed a little strangely - not always, or for a very long time. But the phone does not lose connection with the clock; you can watch it in real time. I really liked the quality of the materials. But, for me, the screen is rather weak in brightness. On a sunny summer day it’s difficult to use; you have to cover it with your hand and look closely. Although in terms of quality and saturation, the screen is superb. The battery lasts a long time, I charge it 2 times a week. I counted 11 sports modes and a bunch of additional functions, such as a heart rate monitor, navigation and notifications, a voice recorder, etc. The screen is quite small, but the watch itself is not bulky, just right for my thin hand. I like the watch. For this money, it seems to me that it will be difficult to find a gadget that is not buggy and of high quality. Design. The matrix is saturated, good viewing angles. Bright and customizable display
The smartwatch debuted in early 2019 and is positioned as an advanced version of the popular Xiaomi Amazfit Bip model. With an active GPS module and Always on display mode, you will need to charge more often. The gadget comes with a branded cradle.
The shortcomings of the watch include not the fastest work of the branded application for the Amazfit Watch smartphone, which is likely to be solved with updates to this software. The downside of the model is a useless NFC chip that only works with Chinese payment systems like AliPay. Otherwise, Xiaomi Amazfit Verge is a relatively inexpensive smart sports watch. For their money, they offer wide fitness features and are almost as good as expensive counterparts.
