Line Apple MacBook Air 13 2017
The updated MacBook Air 2017 model year remains a very successful solution in the market for performance-to-weight ratio. The traditional Apple combination of powerful hardware and a gracefully elegant aluminum body will delight the buyer looking for a compact and capable laptop weighing less than 1.5 kilograms. The display of the Apple MacBook Air 13" 2017 has a glossy coating, providing exceptional image clarity on a TN panel with a resolution of 1440x900.
The pre-installed MacOS Sierra, thanks to the high-speed SSD drive, loads and operates swiftly. The laptop is equipped with modern digital wireless interfaces, including Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and a wired gigabit network. The island-style backlit keyboard with good tactile feedback functions almost silently. The high-capacity lithium-ion battery gives the device impressive autonomy. In a mixed usage mode of document work, internet browsing, and video playback, the battery can last 10-12 hours.
After I bought my first iPhone three years ago, switching to a MacBook became a matter of time. The main deterrent was the price of new official MacBooks, especially since I was looking at an Ultrabook from the Air series with a 13-inch screen. In the end, after parting with the equivalent of $1400, I made this purchase and I don't regret it.
Expensive, yes, but you really have to search hard to find such a combination of low weight, refined design, and good performance with high autonomy. No wonder Apple puts such price tags on their equipment )) Comparing the macOS High Sierra system itself with Windows 10 would be incorrect. They were released at different times, and Apple's OS has just gotten over its growing pains. But I'm comfortable in High Sierra, and I still consider the design of the "ten" to be the most unfortunate of all versions starting from Windows XP. Thanks to the SSD drive, applications work extremely quickly. Browsers, Office, Skype, Viber – everything just flies. There is 8 GB of RAM here, which is more than enough for my typical tasks (a dozen windows in the browser and office). All this happiness in a cool aluminum case weighs about 1.35 kg, that is, very little. But its autonomy is decent, in my typical scenarios, it's up to 8.5-9 hours of work purely on battery. Oh, I almost forgot to praise the HD-format webcam. This is probably the best built-in camera I've seen.
The TN display matrix isn't bad, but such a decision in a device for $1400 seems strange. The ultrabook is beautiful and stylish, but not quiet at all. Any minimally significant load quickly heats up the processor, and this activates the centrifugal cooling system fan. Only two USB ports, which isn't always enough.
