Aggressive and versatile

Cougar Panzer EVO seems to be designed to attract attention. Its front transparent wall opens up a view of 3 massive Vortex coolers, which, when turned on, resemble either a starship engine or the eyes of a hypnotoad from the Futurama animated series. But at the same time, the strict black colour and tinted glass give it a certain amount of officialdom, so it will look quite organically in most home and even office interiors.

Swiss quality

The front and side panels of the case are made of durable and rather thick tempered glass, behind them are four single-colour backlit fans (three in front, one in the back). On the top cover there is a navigation panel, which, in addition to the standard power buttons, USB ports and headphone outputs, is equipped with a cooler rotation speed control. Most of the top panel is occupied by a large grill with a dust filter to remove excess heat from the case. The power supply is located at the bottom, and along the perimeter of the case there are compartments for hidden wire pulling. In general, it is worth saying that all this stuff is collected and thought out so well that it seems that it can survive a nuclear explosion.

Free space reduces the risk of overheating

However, the main charm of the case lies in the rich interior space, which allows you to assemble a modern gaming station with a performant processor and video cards in this case without overheating everything that is installed inside. Judge for yourself, the case is replete with places for installing additional cooling systems and allows you to install up to 8 fans of a common 120 mm size or up to two massive liquid cooling systems with radiators up to 360 mm long. This emphasis on liquid systems is quite in line with modern trends, but the height of 160 mm is quite enough to install many classic air-cooled supercoolers.

External USB ports

Additional pleasant things about the Cougar Panzer Evo case include an expanded set of external interfaces (4 USB ports + headphone output), the possibility of hardware fan speed control and the above-mentioned carrying handles. Well, the only things I didn't like were the restrictions on the size of the coolers in the front (360 mm may not fit) and the lack of magnetic mounts on the lower dust filters.
