The DWA-160 Dual Band USB Adapter is part of the Xtreme N series of products. The DWA-160 supports a reliable wireless connection for HD video streaming. This is achieved by using the DWA-160 adapter and a dual-band 802.11n router (project) (for example, DIR-855) together.
Dual Band Benefits
Thanks to DUO technology, the DWA-160 supports two frequency bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz). At the same time, the 2.4 GHz band can be used to check email and access the Internet, while the 5 GHz band will be used to stream HD video and other media content. The DWA-160 is backwards compatible and therefore can be used in existing 802.11g networks.
MEDIABAND Technology
The DWA-160 supports MediaBandTM (5GHz) technology, which is perfect for wireless HD video streaming. High-definition video is achieved by operating in a band free from interference that can reduce and limit the range of an existing wireless network (for example, the 802.11g standard).
