2-band (Dual-Band)
— models that support two communication bands at once — 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. When working, such a device actually creates two wireless networks — one for each range. This provides guaranteed compatibility with all Wi-Fi standards except WiGig, and also allows you to split user devices into two frequencies, reducing the congestion on each frequency and increasing the actual speed. At the same time, each user can choose the operating range at his discretion — or set up automatic connection on his device to the least loaded frequency (if both are supported).Note that even more opportunities are provided by three-channel equipment (see the relevant paragraph) — however, it costs much more than Dual-Band, and the difference in characteristics is far from always more important than the difference in price.
