Makita has always been known for high-quality tools, but in the last 3-4 years, even their quality has gradually declined. You can notice the cost-cutting in materials (where there used to be absolute rigidity, now there's reduced thickness and the same rigidity isn't there), in manufacturing methods (stamped parts instead of milled or cast ones), and in the assembly quality (unexpected play and mismatches in critical places). This saw, which I heard a lot of good things about from a colleague, turned out to have significant flaws, and the price is quite high. Quite heavy and stable, yet not old school with cast iron stands. Capable of providing a cutting depth of up to 90mm, which is quite a lot for such a small machine. The saw can rotate 60 degrees and tilt 45 degrees. In the latter case, the cutting depth reduces to 64mm, but that's still a good result. I like the large and expandable worktable. Equipped with a soft start and braking system. I connect a vacuum cleaner to it for tool maintenance, and the amount of dust and debris immediately decreases 15-20 times. Good complete set and detailed instructions. Aluminum parts in power nodes, especially on the threads of the saw blade lift, are an epic fail. Seriously, how did this happen??? It's difficult to get the hang of setting the angle of the saw. You set the desired value, start tightening, and it slips. So, to hit certain numbers, you have to predict where and how much the "aim" will shift during fixation. Not the most enjoyable task, and it takes quite a bit of time. The carriage has a slight play in its guides. It might seem like a small thing, but it noticeably affects accuracy. The power for cutting large pieces of dense wood isn't exactly lacking, but you really have to limit the feed speed. |
