It's lightweight and has a comfortable grip, with minimal vibrations, so your hands hardly get tired. You can’t always and everywhere work outside with it. If you want to trim trees, you need to prepare an extension cord of the appropriate length. It's a hassle; for instance, I made one for myself, which was relatively inexpensive, but now it constantly tangles underfoot. In wet, foggy, and rainy weather, the electric saw can’t be used outside either; it might get damp or, even worse, short circuit, and then you're in trouble. |

It can be used for trimming branches in the garden, felling small young trees, collecting firewood, or performing carpentry work on a construction site (for example, when constructing the frames of wooden houses or installing a roof truss system). We liked the efficient oil supply system (with the ability to adjust its performance), which provides automatic dosed lubrication of the chain without splashes or drips of lubricant. Also noteworthy are the relatively quiet operation (as far as possible for a chain saw), low vibration level, the ability to install or remove the blade without tools and adjust the chain tension without keys.
However, the chain tension unit should be discussed separately. It has a very specific design. The fact is that (as conceived by Makita engineers) the chain tensioner also serves as a kind of “fuse” to protect the motor and gear train from overloads. Therefore, the tensioner pin may break if the chain hits a nail. This also happens when the chain is not tightened correctly. Although the stud costs literally pennies and is easily changed independently without contacting a service center, it is constantly mentioned in very unflattering words in almost every second or third review of the Makita UC3541A. In order to avoid problems with this unit, it is necessary to tension the chain strictly according to the instructions (after loosening the fasteners of the tire) and not to cut boards with nails.
