I bought it in June '16 at Allo for less than 30 USD. It worked perfectly for years. I use it for my head and beard. There's an issue with battery wear. It's helpful that it can also work from the mains. The problem is finding a battery and replacing it, as it's unlikely you can take it apart without damaging the casing. Occasionally, the eccentric that drives the blades sometimes pops out of its socket. When this happens, it just makes noise while the blades remain stationary. You need to remove the attachment and put the piece back in place. Overall, I'm satisfied with the device's performance. I only shave and cut my hair with it. The battery is excellent (while new) - it charges quickly and lasts a long time. It also has a low self-discharge. When it was new, a single charge would last me three weeks, if not more. Overall, I think the trimmer has justified itself. Would I buy the exact same one? Definitely yes. Lightweight, quality and smooth operation, good ergonomics, mains powered. The device cannot be easily disassembled to replace the batteries without damaging the casing. There is a problem finding a replacement battery for the worn-out one. |

Durable and efficient
The Philips HC-5450/15 is equipped with a double-sharpened cutting block with DualCut technology. The blades have a titanium coating and lightly touch each other during operation, which ensures their self-sharpening. The device does not require lubrication. Also on the trimmer there is a turbo mode button, which helps with the removal of thick and coarse hair.
Autonomous and informative
The model can be used standalone or offline. The time for a full charge of the battery is 1 hour, and battery life reaches 90 minutes. At the bottom of the machine body there is an LED indicator (http://ek.ua/list/155/pr-4000/). He will tell you when it's time to charge the device, and also inform you about the status of the charge.

Philips HC-5450/15 is equipped with one nozzle. It has a wide range of hair length adjustment — from 1 to 23 mm in 1 mm increments. This allows you to use the machine not only for modeling a beard, but also for cutting hair. However in the latter case, the main disadvantage of the model is well manifested — the comb is heavily clogged, and it has to be cleaned often. Therefore, the benefit of the turbo mode is somewhat lost.
Good battery life makes the Philips HC-5450/15 an excellent choice for those who are used to looking after their appearance, even despite frequent business trips or tourist trips.
