Wacker Neuson is a German multinational company engaged in the production of construction machinery and specialized equipment, as well as the provision of related services. Products of this brand are widely used in construction, agriculture, landscape design and municipal services.
The history of Wacker Neuson dates back to 1848, when Johann Christian Wacker founded a forging company in Dresden, Germany. The company was originally called Wacker, it was engaged in the production of construction tools and for a long time was limited only to the domestic market. Success came in 1930 when the first electric-powered vibratory rammer in the world was created. Thanks to this equipment, the company was able not only to strengthen its position, but also to begin entering international markets.
During World War II, Wacker's production facilities were destroyed, and the brand's operations were suspended until the end of 1945. However, the company managed to recover quickly and resumed expanding into international markets. In 1957, the first overseas branch was opened in Hartford, Wisconsin, USA. Wacker actively increased production and expanded its product range.
In 2002, the company restructured, becoming a limited liability company and changing its name to Wacker Construction Equipment AG. In 2007, it merged with the Austrian company Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen AG, which specialized in compact excavators, loaders, and similar equipment. This merger resulted in the formation of Wacker Neuson SE. The merger not only expanded the product range but also significantly increased market reach.
Today, Wacker Neuson operates worldwide with significant markets in Europe, America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The company's headquarters are located in Munich, Germany. Equipment is manufactured across various production facilities, including a major plant in Horsching, Austria. Wacker Neuson actively forms strategic alliances with other well-known manufacturers of specialized equipment, such as John Deere. In addition to its main brand, the company owns trade names like Weidemann and Kramer, under which various types of loaders are produced.
