Artificial intelligence is marching with confidence to the masses, opening up new horizons. The Canon Speedlite 470EX-AI is the first flash in the lighting industry to use machine learning principles to achieve the perfect beam angle.
"Smart" automation
AI is used in the model to automatically determine the best light reflection from the ceiling. By double tapping on the camera shutter button, the “head” of the flash is sent to the subject, calculating the distance to it, and performs a similar procedure with the ceiling. Based on the received data, the flash selects the optimal angle of illumination in reflected light. The rotation of the "head" is made by means of a motorized drive.
Compatibility
In the semi-automatic mode, the angles of inclination and rotation of the "head" are set manually. By the way, when the camera orientation is changed from landscape to portrait, the flash head automatically shifts. The full functionality of the model is revealed with Canon cameras released later than the second half of 2014. Together with the “oldies” cameras, the photographer has the right to rely exclusively on the semi-automatic flash mode.
