Polk Audio RTi A5

The Polk Audio RTi A5 is a great two-channel system for small to medium sized rooms. Acoustics from the American manufacturer are offered individually or in pairs, at a price of just under $500 per unit, and are definitely worth the money.

The speakers, each measuring 102x21x40 cm , are made of MDF lined with natural veneer and are offered in classic black and vintage cherry colours. Thanks to four semi-circular legs, into which the complete spikes can be screwed, the cabinets are stable on any floor. The front part is completely covered by a black fabric grill, which makes the speaker look rather strict and solid.

Bright dynamic sound

The two-way system reproduces sound in the range of 30 – 27000 Hz using 1 tweeter with a diameter of 25 mm, and two mid-bass drivers with diffusers made of polymer composite with a diameter of 165 mm, made using Dynamic Balance technology. Two front phase inverter ports improve the transmission of low frequencies, one of which is through — Power Port +. This allows the bass to work out clearly and quickly, without delay. In general, it should be noted that the scene is highly detailed and dynamic in almost any genre, although when listening to orchestral music with numerous instruments, there may be a lack of scale.

To swing the speakers to the fullest, you need a good amplifier with a power of up to 250 watts. But many people recommend replacing native Bi-wiring / amping terminals immediately so as not to lose the informativeness of the musical material, especially with a weak amplifier. However, it is not certain that you will need it. For us, personally, the sound was quite satisfied “out of the box”.

Polk Audio RTi A5 is made according to all the canons of Hi-Fi acoustics and fully corresponds to its sound. Yes, it's not cheap, but given the good low-frequency component, you can save on a subwoofer.
