The British company Audiolab has a “speaking” name, thanks to which it immediately becomes clear that it specializes in the production of audio equipment. Its specialization is sound systems designed for consumers who want to enjoy listening to high-quality music, but who are not willing to pay huge sums for the creations of leading manufacturers of Hi-Fi equipment. Audiolab products have relatively affordable prices and very attractive technical characteristics. They have repeatedly received prestigious awards and prizes for their appearance and technical parameters.

The history of Audiolab began in 1983, the company was founded by two former students of London Imperial College – Philip Swift and Derek Scotland. In the same year, the first model appeared – the Audiolab 8000A integrated amplifier, which was favorably received not only by consumers, but also by magazines specializing in audio equipment. This device has been repeatedly noted as one of the best in its class, in terms of cost and sound quality. Other devices followed and also proved to be very successful and attractive to buyers.

In 1998, Audiolab was absorbed by the holding company TAG McLaren Group, then TAG McLaren Audio division was formed. However, it suffered greatly due to the economic downturn at the beginning of the 21st century, after which it was decided to restructure the entire company. As a result, Audiolab was transferred to the Chinese manufacturer International Audio Group (IAG), which also owns brands such as Quad, Wharfedale, Mission and Castle Acoustics. The new owners did everything to ensure that the famous brand survived; starting in 2005, the product range began to expand. Over the past years, many interesting solutions have been presented, many of which have become very popular and in the creation of which famous designers took part.
