The history of the company, which was originally called Camping Gaz, began in 1949 in France. And its first products were compact gas cylinders of the characteristic blue colour used today. The products turned out to be extremely in demand, and after a couple of years the manufacturer managed to enter neighboring markets. The success of the main products convinced the founders to expand production - the first burners and portable stoves appeared, designed for use by both tourists and owners of small country houses.

The idea to enter the grill and barbecue market came much later - in 1994, when the first gas model was introduced. Subsequently, after the new products were favorably accepted by customers, the range was significantly expanded. Today, brand grills are well-deservedly popular with consumers from various countries around the world.

In 1998, it was decided to change the name of Camping Gaz to a simpler, more memorable and unique Campingaz. And in 2005, the manufacturer was taken over by the American company Jarden Corporation, which specializes in the production of all kinds of household goods, from various small things to household appliances. Subsequently, in 2016, Campingaz again changed hands and today is owned by the American corporation Newell Brands, which owns many other brands under which household goods, kitchen electrics and perfumes are produced.
